My belief is exercise should be fun. We don’t have to go to a gym, or lift heavy weights, or run marathons.

We need to move, and we need to find enjoyment in this movement or we won’t come back to it again.

Exercise has a profound effect on our mental health. This has been proven through countless scientific studies. Just some of the benefits of regular physical activity include enhanced self-esteem and cognitive function, reduced symptoms of anxiety and depression, and improved sleep, which is beneficial to all aspects of our health, including our mental health..

In a nut shell - if we find an exercise that we enjoy it can make us feel good. This is what I aim to offer our teens, even those who claim that sport has never been ‘their thing.’

The sessions I offer include individual and small group personal training sessions. These sessions aim to include those teens who don’t necessarily play a lot of sport. The classes are inclusive, safe spaces. I am not worried about ability levels and my classes are not competitive. They are classes that work on safe and correct technique, with predominately body weight exercises. The focus is on strength, flexibility, cardio and functional movement. I have had many years experience coaching a variety of sports and teaching in schools both here on the Northern Beaches and overseas.

Adding to the exercise component of the classes I am offering a safe space to chat about life. I have a Diploma of Counselling and while I am not offering a counselling service I am offering a safe space to talk. I believe that focusing on something else such as exercise while chatting, can lead to good conversations.
